Livsmiljö Gävle works to create a sustainable and pleasant living environment for the municipality's residents. As a consumer advisor, you will be part of the team in the Consumer Gästrikland operation, which offers consumer guidance and budget and debt counseling to all residents in five municipalities: Gävle, Sandviken, Hofors, Ockelbo, and Älvkarleby.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a consumer advisor, your primary task is to provide individual support and guidance in consumer rights issues. You explain laws and regulations clearly and help residents understand their rights and options.

Your role also includes:

• Lecturing and informing groups about consumer rights and financial issues.
• Creating informational materials and adapting messages for different target groups.
• Collaborating with other actors both within and outside the municipality to strengthen residents' consumer knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal Requirements

• You have a higher education degree in law, economics, social sciences, or other education/experience deemed relevant by the employer.
• You have work experience in customer service, case management, or investigation.

Meritorious

• Work experience in consumer guidance or related fields.

Your Personal Competencies

• You have a secure structure in your work and can easily maintain order even when many cases are ongoing simultaneously. You plan your work in good time, prioritize wisely, and ensure that each guidance session, lecture, and follow-up is completed with quality.
• You have a strong service focus and meet each resident with clarity, patience, and professionalism. You work methodically and carefully, ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and that each person receives understandable and useful support. You strive for high customer satisfaction and maintain a consistent, high quality in both guidance and informational efforts.
• You enjoy collaborating with others, from colleagues and other functions within the municipality to external actors. You have an unpretentious approach and seek solutions that benefit both the individual and the organization.
• You explain complex consumer rights issues in a way that people can understand. You are confident in both speech and writing, easily switching between guiding individuals, creating informative materials, and giving lectures. You adapt your language to the target group and situation so that the message always lands correctly.
